Ajax forward Dusan Tadic scored what could be the most painful goal in Champions League history when he 'put his balls on the line' in their Group C clash against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.

The former Southampton man, who has bagged seven goals in all competitions for club and country this season, put his body on the line to equalise for Erik ten Hag's side in the 71st minute following Marco Reus' opener.

But rather than celebrating the crucial goal, a brave Tadic winced in pain as he hobbled next to his teammates. Ouch, that must have hurt.

Following those eye-watering heroics from Tadic, the Eredivisie side continued their unbeaten run in Europe this season and went on to score another two goals through Sebastian Haller and Davy Klaassen.

After the full-time whistle, that man Tadic made fun of his clash with the goal post in a brilliant Twitter post.

He walked over to said post, took a picture and wrote: "Wishing you a quick recovery my friend..."

Tadic elevated the joke further the following day when Ajax touched down in Amsterdam, departing the team bus with a very unique cast.

Now that takes some serious balls.
