While N'Golo Kante was playing in France's second tier, a die-hard Middlesbrough fan scouted the midfielder and recommended him to the club which even got a response from their official Twitter account.
Dennis Abbott tweeted the North East outfit about Kante in 2013, urging then manager Tony Mowbray to check out Kante who was plying his trade for Caen.

To which Boro replied: "Passed on to our scouts, thanks Dennis."
Dennis wrote back: "That's great. He's an outstanding creative player, winning plaudits from media & players alike."
"Thanks Dennis - they're going to look," the club replied.
Naturally, Boro missing out on Kante sent social media into overdrive.
"Got a feeling this kante fella will be a top player," one social media user joked.
