Fans all made the same joke after seeing an error on Manchester City's teamsheet before their Premier League clash against Luton.

City will go top of the Premier League with a victory, as Arsenal and Liverpool do not play until later this weekend.

Guardiola's side are looking for their third consecutive win in the league, having beaten Aston Villa and Crystal Palace in the past two weeks.

They could also achieve their third consecutive four-goal haul, with the Palace win highlighted by a stunning double from Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgian was involved in another double before the Luton game kicked off - although not on the pitch.

Instead, De Bruyne was named on the teamsheet alongside his number 17 shirt, and the captain's armband.

But he was also accidentally listed among the substitutes' bench, also wearing the number 17.

It is worth noting that he was among the substitutes for Tuesday's 3-3 draw at Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The error was soon rectified by City, and a replacement teamsheet was sent out to journalists that showed Phil Foden on the bench, with Guardiola effectively performing a role reversal on the two players compared to Tuesday.

And in response to seeing the error, fans all made the same joke about De Bruyne's performances in the second half of the 2023/24 season.

One wrote: "I've always rated Kevin De Bruyne as a player, he's clearly brilliant, but he's really surpassed himself here."

Another added: "He can do it all."

And a third stated: "That's how good he is!"

While City would clearly love to have a De Bruyne clone on their bench at the Etihad Stadium today, Foden is hardly a bad replacement for if Guardiola's side need an impact player to win the game for them late on.
