'Abysmal!' - Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are WORSE right now than Man United were under Ralf Rangnick

Liverpool are only five points off from Manchester United’s “worst ever Premier League season,” says talkSPORT presenter Mark Goldbridge.

Liverpool are currently performing worse this season under Jurgen Klopp than Manchester United did under Ralf Rangnick in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

That is according to United fan presenter Mark Goldbridge, who branded Liverpool’s 2022-23 campaign as “abysmal” after sharing a damning statistic.

Liverpool manager Klopp has faced mounting pressure this season over the Reds’ inconsistent form, with the Premier League club sat eighth in the league table.

The Reds, who are seven points adrift of the top four, were also dumped out of the Champions League by Real Madrid before the start of the March international break.

Klopp faced further misery post-international break after Manchester City thumped Liverpool 4-1 in their Premier League clash at the Etihad on Saturday.

United fans last season watched on as club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was axed as manager and replaced with interim boss Rangnick until the end of the campaign.

The Red Devils limped to a sixth-place Premier League finish under Rangnick, with United only securing 58 points from their 38 matches played.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Goldbridge revealed that Liverpool are five points worse off now than what United had after 27 matches under Rangnick last season.

👀 “This time last season, Rangnick’s #MUFC had 47 points.”

😳 “#LFC have 42 points. You’re season isn’t just bad, it’s abysmal.”@MarkGoldbridge shares a stat comparing Ralf Rangnick’s Man United to Liverpool this season 🤯 pic.twitter.com/dGHqzM3v54

“But did you know that this time last season Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a terrible time as Man United manager, he got the sack? Ralf Rangnick came in, wasn’t given a transfer window, was absolutely slaughtered by [the] press, ex-players,” he said.

“This time last season after 27 games, Ralf Rangnick had 47 points. Liverpool have got 42.

“That puts it into perspective, Liverpool fans, doesn’t it? Your season isn’t just bad: it’s abysmal.

“We had our worst ever Premier League season, Manchester United last season. And Liverpool are five points off what we had at this point.”
