Liverpool May Have Already Signed Mo Salah's Replacement

With Mo Salah set to depart Liverpool, new signing Fabio Carvalho could be the perfect replacement.

Mo Salah’s excessive wage demands have reportedly led Liverpool to the decision to consider selling the Egyptian this summer, and they might already have his replacement.

New signing Fabio Carvalho, who joins Liverpool in a deal worth £7.7 million, could be the perfect long-term replacement of Mo Salah.

The Portuguese youngster scored 11 goals and assisted 7 across 33 starts for Fulham in the Championship last season, primarily as an attacking midfielder, but he could eventually replace Salah in the right-forward role.

According to reports, Liverpool could let Salah leave this summer if any potential suitor makes an offer in the region of £60 million.

Fabio Carvalho could thus be set to have a busier first season at Anfield than initially thought.

His first campaign in red was supposed to be one in which he would bed himself into the Liverpool dressing room, gaining valuable experience in cup ties.

What Carvalho wasn’t signed for was to be a regular at Liverpool. But that is what he could be next season amid speculation regarding Salah.

If Mo was to leave Liverpool this summer, he’d of course be following Sadio Mané out of the exit door.

It would be a significant blow to Liverpool if they were to lose two key attackers in one transfer window, even though they have already brought in Darwin Nuñez for a club record fee of £85.5 million.

One suspects if Liverpool are to let Salah depart they’ll look to further strengthen their attack through the transfer market.

In recent days, Liverpool have been linked with the likes of Timo Werner, Marco Asensio, and Rodrygo.

Their interest in these stars could be influenced by the sensitive contractural situation with their Egyptian star.

Liverpool fans will be hoping Salah will stick around on Merseyside beyond the end of the transfer window.

However, if he is to put pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield, he will have to reduce his hefty wage demands.
