Alisson breaks silence on fiery 'clash' with Henderson during Chelsea draw

Alisson breaks silence on fiery 'clash' with Henderson during Chelsea draw

Alisson opened up about the incident.

Liverpool star Alisson Becker opened up about his heated row with team-mate Jordan Henderson during the Reds’ draw with Chelsea.

On Tuesday Liverpool and Chelsea played out a drab 0-0 draw that encapsulated the respective sides’ current standing of eighth and 11th in the Premier League table.

And while Chelsea can at least dream of Champions League success this term, Liverpool’s only goal now for the season is a top-four place.

Though Tuesday’s tepid draw ended a run of three successive defeats since that remarkable 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently languishing ten points adrift of a Champions League spot.

Things could have been even worse for Liverpool after Joel Matip presented Chelsea’s Joao Felix with a chance in the game’s closing stages.

Though the Portugal international fluffed his lines, the incident lead to a heated exchange between Henderson and Alisson, with the Liverpool captain appearing to accuse his goalkeeper of not communicating with Matip.

After the game, Alisson opened up about his conversation with Henderson and dismissed having any kind of problem with his skipper.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, the goalkeeper said: “Me and Henderson, we are two people who fight, who give our lives for their team.

“And on the field, there is no way to ask 'please'.

“So sometimes it seems that the mood is high, but it’s two people trying to fix it, do things in the best way for the team and try to help.”

On Liverpool's form Alisson added: “Of course it’s been difficult, it’s been a great challenge. We are human beings and we feel as much as anyone else. We get frustrated when something negative happens.

“We rejoice when we are well. But football, the difference is that we can’t spend a long time lamenting because that’s the good side of football.

“When things are going badly, two, three days after a match that the team doesn’t play well, there’s already an opportunity that can show again. So that’s our challenge this season. Each game will show our real quality and play together as a team.”
