Cesc Fabregas has addressed the rumours suggesting he will return to Chelsea as Liam Rosenior's replacement this summer.
Just three months after he was appointed, Chelsea sacked former manager Rosenior after losing five consecutive Premier League matches without scoring for the first time since 1912.
The Englishman had more than six years left in his contract but a clause within the deal allowed Chelsea to sack him without having to pay for the remainder of the agreed contract.
Assistant coach Calum McFarlane stepped in to replace Rosenior, as interim head coach until the end of the season, with a new permanent manager to be appointed in the summer.

Although a number of names have been linked with taking over at Stamford Bridge, it appears that a club may be looking at appointing a former player, with several currently among the favourites.
Fabregas is just one of the names that has been suggested as a potential replacement, having impressed at Serie A club Como, who are currently fifth in Serie A with a strong chance of securing Champions League football next season.
And although he accepted that a move back to the Premier League would be an ideal career move, he has suggested he's in no rush to leave his current job.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Fabregas said: “The Premier League is the best league in the world. I’ve always been very, very clear about it. I felt it as a player, I feel it as a coach, as a fan.
"But [José] Mourinho told me one day when I was at Chelsea ‘I still have 30 years to work’. So I could be here [Como] for 10 years, and you can still go to the Premier League in 12, 15 years.
“Football is so unpredictable, it changes in one second. One day, you are the best. The day after, you are the worst. So let’s enjoy the moment. I like to enjoy the moment. It’s beautiful what we are living here. Let’s see what the future holds.”
He added that he will “of course” he will return to the Premier League as coach one day, but admitted he didn't feel any need to leave the “beautiful” project he has helped build at Como.
Who else could could be appointed as Chelsea manager?
As it stands, former Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is the favourite to succeed Rosenior, despite the frequent links with Liverpool.
Alonso signed a three-year contract at the Bernabeu last summer but was sacked in January, leaving him available in the summer.
It has also been reported that Chelsea officials have recently made an approach to Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who is set to leave his post at Dean Court in the summer after three years in charge.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, it is believed that Chelsea also have Fulham manager Marco Silva on their shortlist.
