Vinicius Junior’s agency issues explosive statement amid Arsenal transfer reports

Roc Nation Sports, the agency that represents several high-profile footballers, including Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr, has slammed "fake" and "damaging" reports from sections of the media.

On Sunday evening, Roc Nation's international president, Michael Yormark, posted an explosive statement on Instagram that called on media outlets to be "more accountable".

It read: "Roc Nation Sports International and our entire team cannot stand idle when unprofessional and uninformed media publish fake and damaging information for attention-seeking purposes.

"This is especially unacceptable when it personally targets our clients without any foundation."

The statement added: "It is disruptive, harmful and libellous. Media outlets and journalists need to hold themselves more accountable."

As seen above, the statement did not specifically mention any names, but over the past week, a number of Roc Nation clients have been tipped to make a summer switch, including Vinicius Jr.

The Brazil international continues to be linked with a big-money transfer. In fact, in the build-up to Arsenal's pre-season friendly win over Girona on Saturday, Mikel Arteta was asked by reporters about their so-called pursuit of the forward.

Arteta, who is said to be personally keen on signing Vinicius, initially smiled when his name was mentioned by a reporter.

When asked again about Arsenal's general transfer plans, he said: "We are very active, trying to improve and evolve the team. That's clear. We expect to have movements in the next few weeks, obviously, because we want to get better like anybody else."

As well as Vinicius, Roc Nation represent Yan Diomande, another player whose name has been plastered over the transfer columns of late. The 19-year-old appears to be closing in on a move to Real Madrid.

However, a report from AS on Sunday evening claimed the announcement of Diomande 's transfer to Los Blancos is being delayed due to a conflict between agents.

It is said the dispute involves Max Gradel, who owns the company Maxidel Management, and Roc Nation, the agency that is handling Diomande's affairs.

Maxidel, the company that brought Diomande from Leganes to RB Leipzig, has filed a complaint with FIFA alleging breach of contract after Real Madrid negotiated with Roc Nation, according to the Spanish publication.
