Fans are loving the brand new French commentary team on FIFA 23 – and their incredible reaction to a Lionel Messi goal in-game has been described as a "work of art". You can see the footage below.

To replace Canal+ journalist Herve Mathoux, who is known in France as the voice of FIFA, EA decided to give the game a refresh by hiring popular beIN Sports duo Omar Da Fonseca and Benjamin Da Silva.

Following online petitions demanding Da Fonseca and Da Silva be introduced, it was announced in July that they would officially be part of the new look commentary team.

Da Silva said it was a "dream come true" to get the gig of a lifetime alongside his friend.

🔥 It’s in the game !

🎮 Hyper heureux de vous annoncer qu’avec @Omar_daFonseca nous sommes les nouveaux commentateurs de #FIFA23

⭐️ C’est un rêve d’enfant qui se réalise ! Une reconnaissance incroyable !

Months before the September release date, the new voices of FIFA 23 worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make their commentary package a success.

In fact, they worked for almost a year to record each player name, descriptions of goals and more.

"We had to redo everything," Benjamin Da Silva told AFP. "It was two-three-four recording sessions a week, which sometimes lasted six hours. There were solo and duo sessions, with an artistic director who guided us on the intonation, the tempo that we needed have.

"An exercise both close to and very different from live match commentary because you have to know how to put your voice without images in front of you. In a live, you have the atmosphere, the stadium. This is not the case at all, it's bits of sentences, bits of action, bits of second-hand.

"But when we can imagine everything, it's easy then to project ourselves and reproduce what we do on TV."

Omar Da Fonseca added: "Even if we imagine the goal of Mbappé, Messi... you still want to scream! When we comment, we want to try to bring something out. For us it's natural, we didn't have to do excessive acting."

French publication Le Parisien posted a YouTube clip of the pair reciting their lines for FIFA 23 and it's a great watch. You can check it out below.

More footage of the pair's commentary has since emerged since the official release date earlier this month.

As you can see in the clip below, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland scores a screamer in the Ultimate Team game mode and a delighted Da Silva proceeds to belt out: "GOAAAAAL! INCREDIBLE!"

Je RT juste pour Benjamin Da Silva aux commentaires 😭🔥🔥🔥😂 https://t.co/OGdYMkgNev
