Footage of Trent Alexander-Arnold's first Real Madrid training session emerges and it's got fans talking

The former Liverpool right-back was unveiled as a Real Madrid player on Thursday.

Footage of Trent Alexander-Arnold in Real Madrid training has emerged online, and fans are all saying the same thing.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player at a ceremony on Thursday.

The former Liverpool right-back impressed those gathered at the event and watching at home when he switched from speaking English to Spanish.

"Thank you so much to President Florentino Perez and Real Madrid for this opportunity," he said in Spanish.

"Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn't happen every day. It's a dream come true. I'm very happy and proud to be here. I'm eager to show the club and the fans what I can do."

On Saturday, Trent took part in Real Madrid’s training session as they prepare for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, during which they will face Al Hilal, Pachuca and RB Salzburg in the group stage.

Footage emerged of the England international taking a corner, and fans were quick to give their thoughts.

One fan said: "We’re cooking set pieces next season."

Another added: "I’m not kidding this is the first time I’m seeing us practice corners in training."

A third explained: "We are going to cook next season."

While a fourth added: "Him on the left, Güler on the right. We should be scoring at least 20 corners next season."

Arguably one of Alexander-Arnold's most iconic moments in a Liverpool shirt was his quick corner to Divock Origi in the 2019 Champions League semi-final second leg, during which the Premier League side overturned a three-goal deficit against Barcelona, before going on to beat Spurs in the final.

Fittingly, Trent referenced his new head coach, Xabi Alonso, as a player he replicates when delivering the ball.

"I think it's just about replicating the players that I wanted to be when I was younger – the likes of Gerrard, Alonso, who were unbelievable passers of the ball," Trent told Liverpool.com in 2019.

"I always wanted to be able to pass a ball like that. Obviously I still look up to them massively and sometimes I still find myself watching clips of them – especially Gerrard, I always watch his old clips, his old games. He's someone that I still look up to now and still an idol for me.

"It's just growing up wanting to be them. I was practising a lot on my passing and for me it's paid off and I'm reaping the rewards now."
