Real Madrid are reportedly set to pursue another free transfer in the transfer market, and it's not Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Just six months after bringing superstar Kylian Mbappe to the club in one of the biggest football transfers of all time, Madrid have been busy preparing for the transfer window in the summer of this year.

It has widely been reported that the 15-time Champions League winners appear to be prioritising big name players who will be available in the summer as free agents due to their contracts expiring.

Liverpool vice-captain Alexander-Arnold and Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies have been on top of Madrid's list, but they are now considering making a massive move for another free agent this summer.

Madrid have not been shy about their interest in Alexander-Arnold, as they hope to reunite the Liverpool defender with England teammate Jude Bellingham as a statement signing to replace an ageing Dani Carvajal.

Should they miss out on the 26-year-old, it is believed they will turn their attention to Davies who, like Alexander-Arnold, will be out of contract in the summer should he not pen a deal with his current club.

But now, Madrid have reportedly turned their attention to one of Davies' Bayern Munich teammates, as they hope to convince midfielder maestro Joshua Kimmich to come to the Bernabeu instead of extending his stay at the Bundesliga club.

According to Bayern Munich journalist Christian Falk, the 29-year-old is in direct contact with Real Madrid about his future, and sees them as his preferred option if he is to move away from the Allianz Arena this summer.

However, it would appear that the German giants remain in the driving seat in the race for Kimmich's signature, as Falk confirmed that Bayern are still the first negotiating partner and will hold further talks with the German international ahead of his contract expiring.

But Real Madrid are not the only club that Bayern will have to bat off if they hope to convince Kimmich to stay, as both Liverpool and Barcelona have also been linked with moves for the midfielder should he become available.
