Barcelona have reportedly decided on whether to pursue a potential permanent transfer for Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford.
Rashford, 27, joined Barcelona on an initial season-long loan from Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
Since then, he has found form under the guidance of Barca boss Hansi Flick and has registered three goals and five assists in just ten appearances, with his first La Liga goal coming in Sunday’s 4-1 defeat against Sevilla.
The one blemish on Rashford’s first couple of months in Spain came when he was late for a training session, which led to him being benched for the subsequent league fixture against Getafe.

Nonetheless, Rashford’s resurgence is there for all to see and has earned him yet another call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
But will he make his loan permanent come next summer?

Well, according to the Spanish outlet SPORT, relayed by Tribal, Barcelona are reportedly ready to take up the permanent option in Rashford’s loan, although there is still some debate about a potential fee due to Barca’s financial situation.

Barca can trigger the option for a fee of £26.2million, but Rashford, who is contracted to his parent club until June 2028, will likely have to sacrifice a portion of his current £315,000 per week salary from his deal at United.
Tribal suggests that the hierarchy at Barca will try and negotiate a cut price to bring the Englishman to the club.
A potential move may also be impacted by La Liga’s Financial Fair which states that clubs can only spend on salaries what they match in income.
A report from the Mirror, also claims that United have already agreed to let Barca make the deal permanent for £26m next summer, with the La Liga side supposedly funding all of the player’s wages in return – although this has not been confirmed by Manchester United, Barcelona or the player’s representatives at this stage.

So, what has Rashford said about making his loan permanent?

The 27-year-old has made no secret of his seeming desire to stay in Catalonia and was quoted as saying that he wanted to play for Barca for “as many seasons as possible” in September.
Also, journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that the club’s board currently feel “very positive” about the England man’s performance and that he’s “not even thinking about a Manchester United return from the loan”.

Rashford will return to Barca duty following the international break, during which England face Wales in a friendly and Latvia in a World Cup qualifier.
