Marcus Rashford has been handed a set of 10 strict rules to follow by Hansi Flick after the Manchester United loanee was handed just 33 minutes for his Barcelona debut.

The Englishman made his first appearance for the Catalans in a pre-season friendly against Japanese side Vissel Kobe on Sunday, as Flick's side ran out 3-1 winners due to two late goals.

But he was forced to settle for a spot on the bench, with Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal starting across the frontline.

Rashford was brought on at half-time for Raphinha and registered just one shot on target during his brief cameo before being withdrawn after 78 minutes for youngster Pedro Fernandez Sarmiento, otherwise known as 'Dro', who completed the scoring following goals from Eric Garcia and another new signing in Roony Bardghji.

The match demonstrated just how hard he will need to work to impress Hansi Flick to tie down a starting spot.

According to Diario AS, there are 10 rules which the head coach demands of everyone in the Barcelona dressing room.

He demands punctuality from his players and wants them to arrive for training at 09:30am, which is an hour and a half before it starts.

At training, Flick is known for long and intense sessions to prepares his side for a high-energy style.

All of the players train with a GPS device, which can provide data on their physical output.

There is control over the weight and nutrition of the players, with their weight recorded every morning before they eat at the training ground's dining room.

On a matchday, the players have a morning activation session, before they all meet together at a hotel to continue their preparations.

After a late-night away game, Flick prefers for the squad to stay in the city and recover.

He has also got rid of the economic sanctions which were brought in by his predecessor Xavi.

Although the German still demands high standards, he prefers other forms of accountability than just fining the players.

He also does not like to give the players days off, with one day a week the most that he tends to allow.

International breaks are seen as the time for his squad members who have not been called up to represent their countries, to rest.

For Rashford, there are lots of rules which he must follow in order to win the trust of Flick.

After an excellent 2022/23 season in which he scored 30 goals for Manchester United, it has been a difficult couple of years for the Englishman.

He scored eight the following year, before bagging 11 last campaign.

The 27-year-old fell out with United boss Ruben Amorim and joined Aston Villa on loan, which he saw as a chance to impress and earn his dream move to Barcelona.

Now he has joined the La Liga giants, it is up to Rashford to impress Flick and reignite his career.
