Barcelona fans have come to immediate Marcus Rashford verdict after his debut against Vissel Kobe

Marcus Rashford made his debut for Barcelona on Sunday, coming off the bench in a friendly win against Japanese side Vissel Kobe.

Barcelona fans have already made their minds up on Marcus Rashford after he made his debut for the club on Sunday.

After being frozen out at boyhood club Manchester United, Rashford has signed on loan for the Blaugrana and follows in the footsteps of Gary Lineker as the latest Englishman to turn out for the club.

Rashford has taken the iconic No.14 shirt previously won by Johan Cruyff and Thierry Henry and Barca, who are paying his wages in full, have the option to buy him for £30.3 million.

The 27-year-old started from the bench for Barca's game against Vissel Kobe but came on at half-time, replacing Raphinha and lining up on the left flank.

Rashford, who had been training separately to United's first-team prior to getting his move to Barca, looked sharp driving with the ball and appeared to linked up well with his teammates in the 3-1 win.

He sent Robert Lewandowski in behind for the second goal scored by the La Liga champions, with new signing Roony Bardghji opening his account with a smart left-footed finish.

However, Rashford was later substituted in the 78th minute and the player who replaced him, 17-year-old prospect Dro Fernandez, sealed the victory by scoring Barca's third goal.

The reason for Rashford's withdrawal is not yet known, with Hansi Flick expected to explain the call in a press conference.

Reacting to his display on X, one fan said: "Rashford being subbed on in the 46 minute and being subbed off in the 78 minute."

A second commented: "Hansi Flick saw Marcus Rashford play for 34 minutes and subbed him off. He has had enough."

Another observed: "Rashford looks so exhausted."

However, another was a bit more upbeat, writing: "Rashford doing a lot of positive things. Good passing and could have had a goal."

Barcelona teammate hails Rashford's quality

Glimpses of a combination between Rashford and Lewandowski were on show in the first friendly, and the veteran Polish striker has already showered his new colleague with praise on what he can bring to the table.

"Marcus has great talent," Lewandowski told Catalunya Radio.

"He showed it a few years ago, when he played against us in the Europa League,

“He is also a player who can play in several positions. There will be many games during the season, so it will be very good for us to have players who can help us. Rashford’s arrival is good for the team.”

Rashford and Barca return to action on Thursday when they take on FC Seoul in South Korea.
