Barcelona are yet to confirm the arrival of Marcus Rashford but they may have already turned attentions to their next big summer signing.
Rashford is in Spain to complete a season-long loan deal from Manchester United after falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim at the end of 2024. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, before informing United that he wanted to leave this summer. The England international was then frozen out of pre-season training at Carrington and has now secured a dream move to the Camp Nou.
A loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent is set to be confirmed, with Barcelona having a £30 million option to buy Rashford next summer. Reports say Rashford cannot yet be registered due to Barcelona's ongoing financial issues but are fully confident he will be able to play before the start of the season.

When Rashford's signing is confirmed, Barcelona boss Hansi Flick will hope to add more reinforcements to his squad who will be tasked with helping to defend the La Liga title. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia is the only other summer signing so far after making the £21 million switch from Espanyol earlier in the window.
According to Diario Sport, a new fill-back is high on Flick's shopping list and Barcelona are setting their aims high. The report says that they want to sign either Alejandro Grimaldo of Bayer Leverkusen or Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, and they would have to pay around £26 million for either.

It is claimed that Dumfries could be available for a lower price due to a clause in his contract and has already been offered to the Nou Camp club. However, that clause is only active for another week until the end of July so Barca would have to act quickly.

Meanwhile Grimaldo, 30, could be available for a similar price with the Spaniard coming through their famous La Masia academy. Either signing would compete with Alejandro Balde and youngster Gerard Martin for minutes on the left-hand side of defence.
They would likely link up with Rashford, who can operate on either wing or up front but often found himself coming in from the left for United when he was playing at his best.
