Thomas Tuchel hasn't taken any prisoners with his selections for the England World Cup 2026 squad, ridding the plane of an abundance of experienced tournament players who have struggled for form.
Long-time servant Harry Maguire is just one of the leadership group who have been told to warm the couch this summer, instead of flying out to the World Cup, leading to scathing social media posts from his family.
One who escaped the culling was Jordan Henderson, as the 35-year-old central midfielder has solidified himself in Tuchel's plans.
Named among Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, and Kobbie Mainoo as the deep-lying midfielders on the plane, Henderson will be on the plane to North America this June, although it's come as a surprise inclusion when looking at his recent performances - or lack of.

With the squad making for rigorous debates, one stat has come to light that shows how lucky Henderson has been to make the plane.
Bizarre Henderson stat leaves England fans baffled at selection
Taking up an ethos of 'you can't be in bad form if you have no form,' Jordan Henderson critics have been quick to point out just how little football the midfielder has played this year.
Having started life at Brentford well, returning to the Premier League to marshal Keith Andrews' dressing room, Henderson played in all of the first 16 games.
However, the back-end of the season hasn't been as favourable.
According to data from Transfermarkt, the box-to-box player has just 38 minutes of football under his belt since he suffered an injury as he captained England in a friendly against Uruguay in March.

The half an hour of football was split into two as he made substitute appearances against Manchester City and Crystal Palace.
With the news breaking this morning, fans have been quick to jump to the aid of Adam Wharton, who will be the player most upset with this selection.
"Adam Wharton sitting on a beach so we can take this guy along for vibes. Outrageous," one fan said.
Another added, "Adam Wharton not picked just so we can enjoy another Henderson masterclass, can't help but laugh."
The decision comes after reports that Tuchel didn't think that Harry Maguire's 'ego' could cope with being in the dressing room as a non-starter, which either indicates that Henderson will be more than a bit-part player, or that the manager values his leadership more.
Henderson will be making a final run-out in the Premier League as he returns to Anfield to keep Brentford's outside hopes of a European spot alive.
Henderson and Maguire aren't the only wholesale changes from previous squads either, as Tuchel has controversially left star players like Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Lewis Hall, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Morgan Gibbs-White at home.
