Roma become first club in football history to achieve satisying feat after completing Rodrigo Mora transfer
In one of the more satisfying moments of the summer, Serie A side Roma have made history by becoming the first club to use every squad number from 1 to 99 following the signing of Rodrigo Mora.
Mora was handed the previously untouched number 86 shirt during his official unveiling this week.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, who has joined Roma from Portuguese side FC Porto this week in a deal worth £21.4 million, has continued to wear the number 86 since his days playing for Porto's reserve team.
Rather fittingly, it also happens to be a now-historic number at the Stadio Olimpico. The Italian giants have become the first team in football to have had at least one player wear every number from 1 to 99 over the course of its history.

Unlike the top tier of Spanish football, which forces primary squads to use 1 through 25, Serie A clubs can go as high as they like with unconventional numbers such as 99, the digits currently occupied by goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
A glance at the club's Transfermarkt page shows a host of Roma players have made some particularly bold choices when it comes to their squad numbers.
Svilar's fellow goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini wears the 96, while Italian centre-back Daniele Ghilardi sports the number 87. Mora is the next highest before Robinio Vaz (78), Niccolo Pisilli (61) and Wesley (43).
Away from the squad number and Mora is delighted to follow in the footsteps of one of his idols.
“I grew up watching Dybala, and now being able to play alongside him is so gratifying for me," he said. "I can’t wait to get to know him. I think my main strength is shaking off opponents in complicated situations.”
