A Wrexham transfer consultant has issued a huge update on the club’s reported interest in signing Jamie Vardy.
Vardy, 38, is among several players with Premier League pedigree who have been linked with moves to Wrexham this summer.
Ben Davies, Tom Cairney, Aaron Cresswell and soon-to-be-out-of-contract Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen have all been linked with the Red Dragons ahead of what promises to be a historic season in the Championship.

Eight players, including Steven Fletcher, were named in the club’s retained list, released last month.
Of course, making the step up to the Championship will prove difficult, and experience will no doubt be a sought-after commodity in the transfer window.
And signing Vardy would provide guaranteed goals as well as experience, given the fact that the former England striker helped Leicester to promotion twice during his time at the East Midlands side.
So, could he end up playing for Wrexham?

Well, speaking to the i paper, the club’s transfer consultant, Les Reed, gave his thoughts on the issues associated with such a high-profile transfer.
“Let’s take Jamie Vardy,” Reed said.
“Everyone thinks he’s out of contract, there’s no transfer fee, Wrexham could do that. You’re talking about players who are on £140,000 a week. We are a million miles away from that because we don’t get Premier League revenues or broadcasting money.”
“I think we were linked with Kevin De Bruyne at one stage!” he added. “There is a certain level of Premier League player who, if they are on £100k to 150k-a-week, are still going to get close to that if they move to the MLS or Saudi Arabia than if they go to Wrexham.”

As things stand, according to Oddschecker, any Italian club is favourite to sign Vardy, followed by SPL side Rangers, who appointed Russell Martin as head coach on Thursday (June 5).
Speaking in May, Vardy was asked if he wanted to carry on playing, to which he replied: “Yeah, 100 per cent. But again, football's a crazy world. So you never know what's going to happen. I’m always excited for what comes next.
“I've always said I'll keep going until my legs literally tell me, no, you need to stop, we're done. And my legs are fine.”
In May, Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds made his stance clear ahead of the transfer window when he spoke on RobRyanRed.

He said: "We're coming to win. I can't give you a dollar figure, but I can tell you that we are going to be as aggressive as we can possibly be while being mindful of sustainability. We have a stadium to revamp, but will still maintain its character and culture."
