Wayne Rooney Made Embarrassing Blunder Seconds after Entering David Beckham's Home

The former Manchester United stars had a disastrous trip to Beckham's house.

Wayne Rooney made an embarrassing blunder just seconds after he entered David Beckham's home.

Although the illustrious careers of the former Manchester United stars did not overlap at club level, they were teammates for England.

Rooney made history as the youngest player to represent England when he made his first appearance at just 17 years old in a friendly against Australia. They pair went on to share the pitch at both Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup, with England suffering quarter-final exits to Portugal on both occasions.

But Rooney revealed on the latest episode of The Wayne Rooney Show that the pair had also spent time together away from the pitch.

He explained that he, Frank Lampard, and a couple of other England teammates were invited to Beckham's house for dinner. But it was a disastrous start to the evening for Rooney, who was still just a teenager at the time.

He said: "He's showing us around his house, I open the door and I bumped his eldest boy, Brooklyn's, head.

"He started crying and I'm there thinking, 'Oh Jesus Christ'."

Will Wayne Rooney return to management?

After a glittering playing career with Manchester United, during which he lifted five Premier League titles and a Champions League, he has struggled to replicate that success in management.

He impressed in difficult circumstances at Derby County, who were battling a points deduction, but he was ultimately unable to save from relegation to League One.

Rooney then took charge at his former club DC United, where he again struggled.

His managerial reputation took a bigger hit during his spell at Birmingham City.

John Eustace had been sacked with the club sitting sixth in the Championship, but under Rooney, the team plummeted and he was dismissed with the Blues sitting 20th.

It prompted minority owner and NFL star Tom Brady to question Rooney's work ethic in a recent Amazon Prize documentary.

But Birmingham continued to decline and were relegated.

Rooney's most recent managerial role came at Plymouth Argyle, but he struggled yet again, winning just four out of 24 league games to leave the Pilgrims bottom of the Championship.

Now, he appears to have taken a break from management to concentrate on his new programme, named the 'Wayne Rooney Show' on BBC Sport.

And with his son Kai Rooney impressing for Manchester United under 18s side, it appears Rooney's priorities may have shifted.
