Scott McTominay sent warning as Napoli player finds 'geolocators' hidden in his car by criminal gangs

The ex-Manchester United man is enjoying life at Napoli - but he will be hoping he will not experience the feat one his teammates had to.

Scott McTominay has been issued a stark warning by his Napoli teammate Juan Jesus – who found ‘geolocators’ tagged to his car by ‘criminals'.

On the pitch, life in Naples could hardly have started better for McTominay. The ex-Manchester United man made the switch from Old Trafford in August.

Since then, he has impressed the Italian media and manager Antonio Conte with his performances.

The city of Naples, for all its delights, can be an unforgiving place at times. McTominay’s teammate, Jesus, found this out on Wednesday.

He posted a series of images to social media showing smashed windows, with images appearing to show that the interior of his car had also been ransacked.

Jesus was clearly devastated by what had happened. The defender gave his thoughts via several stories posted to Instagram.

“After almost one month of being tailed, today they tried to steal my car,” he wrote.

“What a bad feeling, you make me vomit!”

“What happened tonight is just the icing on the cake, in the space of one month, I found as many as five air tags (geo-tracker) inside my car,” he added in his second story.

“And just knowing that these criminals know where I live doesn’t bring me serenity, unluckily I won’t feel safe ever again in such a beautiful city.

“I know that material goods are of secondary importance, but knowing that a stranger violated a personal belonging really makes me sick.”

This is not the first instance of a player or manager’s belongings being damaged in Naples.

In 2021, then-Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti saw his Fiat Panda go missing.

According to Daily Sports, this was a mafia tradition, and the Italian was informed his car would be returned once he left the city.

After Napoli’s historic Serie A triumph of 2022-23, his steering wheel miraculously reappeared at Napoli’s training ground.

The former Napoli boss appeared to meet up with several ‘Ultras’ who presented him with the steering wheel of his vehicle.

Individuals dressed all in black with their faces covered handed him the piece of the vehicle in a huge Napoli blue box with a white ribbon attached.

Spalletti saw the funny side on that occasion – but winning a league title tends to improve a manager’s mood.
