Scott McTominay is said to be 'contemplating' a return to the Premier League, with four clubs reportedly interested in his signature – including boyhood club Manchester United.
McTominay, who joined Napoli from United last summer in a deal worth around £25 million, enjoyed an extraordinary debut campaign in Italy, scoring 13 goals in 36 games as Antonio Conte's side lifted the Scudetto.
As well as being named Serie A's Player of the Year, he was nominated for the 2025 Ballon d'Or; all while continuing to shine on the international stage with Scotland, helping them secure qualification for next summer's World Cup.
It has been a career-changing year for the 29-year-old midfielder, although speculation continues to mount around his short-term future in Naples.

A report from Goal suggests McTominay is 'contemplating' a return to England's top flight, with 'internal tensions' being mentioned amid the intense scrutiny that comes with being one of Napoli's top stars.
The report also mentions a source from The Sun that claims McTominay is finding it "difficult" to adapt to certain aspects of the lifestyle.
"Scott loves elements of Italian life and had a wonderful first season," the source said. "But the passion of the fans can be a blessing but also make things difficult."
They added: "He is treated as a god over there but it means he finds it difficult to do simple things when he's not training. The attention can be suffocating."
Amid ongoing speculation, a handful of clubs are targeting a move for McTominay, according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
Of the four clubs interested, three are from the Premier League – Tottenham, Newcastle United and Manchester United – while La Liga leaders Barcelona are also 'keeping an eye' on the midfielder.

Napoli could be forced into unthinkable Scott McTominay decision
A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, as per IlBianconero, has suggested Napoli are at risk of a transfer ban.
While Lazio and Como are set to be relieved from an embargo from the independent commission, both Napoli and Pisa could be in trouble as they are understood to have fallen afoul of "expanded labour cost to revenue” regulations.
Napoli are believed to have fallen below the 0.8 threshold.
Failure to meet it could bring about difficulties in the transfer market, as the club will effectively have to balance the books by selling players in order to make new signings and be at an equal level to others.

McTominay would appear to be a leading contender to be sold for a sizeable fee if Napoli do find themselves in financial restrictions. According to Transfermarkt, the Scot has a current value of €45 million.
