Both Ian Wright and Roy Keane appeared to call out a current Premier League head coach for his comments about former Aston Villa, Celtic and Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill.
Wright and Keane both offered their thoughts on Brentford head coach Keith Andrews when they spoke about some previous harsh things the Bees boss had said about O’Neill back in 2018.
It’s fair to say, Andrews and O’Neill don’t quite see eye to eye, with the pair aiming several digs at each other during various TV and radio appearances.
On a recent episode of The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet, Gary Neville brought up O’Neill’s comments - in an interview with The Guardian - about Andrews being a “set-piece coach” rather than currently being “known as a manager”, as well as finding Brentford uninventive due to their reliance on long throws.

“Keith is not my favourite person because he was very critical of me in Ireland,” O’Neill claimed.

Andrews took charge of Brentford in June 2025, following Thomas Frank’s exit.
The west London outfit are currently 16th in the Premier League on seven points with a record of two wins, one draw and four defeats in seven games under Andrews’ guidance.

The pair’s feud dates back several years, with Andrews branding O’Neill clueless during his time as Republic of Ireland head coach.
Speaking on Sky Sports following the country's 1-0 UEFA Nations League loss to Wales back in 2018, Andrews was hypercritical of O’Neill.
"He's mentioning about technique and ability, but they don't have a clue what they are doing,” said Andrews.
He then went on to say it was one of “the worst years in recent memory for Irish football” and that a lot of that was “down to Martin”.

And during the recent Overlap episode, the panel – made up of Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Neville, Keane and Wright – all weighed in with their thoughts.
“You shouldn’t call a manager clueless,” Neville claimed.

“Of course you shouldn’t,” Keane, who was O’Neill’s assistant at the time of Andrews’ comments, added.

Scott then asked if the panel “remember everything” that people have said about them, to which Wright replied: “You’d remember that Jill, f*** me. That was a horrible thing to say.”
Andrews will be hoping his side turns their form around after the international break when they travel to West Ham United on Monday, 20 October.
