Eddie Howe: 'I always hold myself accountable'
Newcastle had chances to score against Man United but failed to take any of their opportunities.
Howe lamented Newcastle's first-half showing but was pleased with his side's overall performance even though it ended in a defeat.
"It is a frustrating game," he said after the result. "In the first half it was there for us to grab and we didn’t and I was disappointed with our performance at half-time. Second half was a lot stronger and I thought we dominated the game in terms of possession and chances. It was that elusive first goal... and if we get it the win is there for us."
Howe added: "I always hold myself accountable first and of course then I look at the players as well. I thought the performance was good today. I am not stood here going, 'we were miles off'."
