Ruben Amorim could be set to make a swift return to Premier League managerial duties following his sacking from Manchester United.
United confirmed Amorim would be leaving the club with immediate effect, with Darren Fletcher confirmed to take the reigns for their midweek clash with Burnley.
However, Fletcher looks set to be snubbed in the long-term, even if United opt for a caretaker manager until the end of the season.
According to The Athletic, Amorim's departure was down to a 'breakdown in relations behind the scenes', with Amorim's post-match press conference at Elland Road seeming to be the final nail in the coffin.

Amorim lost 19 of his 47 Premier League matches in charge with just 15 wins, averaging 1.24 points a game which is the same as Alan Pardew, Chris Coleman and Bruno Lage.
Despite his underwhelming time at Old Trafford, the Portuguese manager has seen his odds on taking over two Premier League clubs slashed since his sacking.
According to odds via football betting site BetVictor, Amorim is an option for both Spurs and West Ham as both Thomas Frank and Nuno Espirito Santo under pressure for their jobs.
The former United manager is 6/1 to take over at the London Stadium, and more of an outsider at 14/1 to replace Frank at Spurs.
Despite the short odds, Amorim is not favourite for the West Ham job, with Slaven Bilic (4/7) and Michael Carrick (2/1) slightly ahead in the bookies.

United's statement, in full, reads: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United.
"Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May.
"With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.
"The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future.
"Darren Fletcher will take charge of the team against Burnley on Wednesday."
