Ruben Amorim Seen 'Having a Go' at Man Utd Player by Journalist vs Forest

The Portuguese watched his side's three-game winning run come to an end against Sean Dyche's Forest.

Ruben Amorim was spotted ‘having a go’ at one of his players during Manchester United’s 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Following three successive wins against Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton in recent weeks, Amorim may have finally been feeling positive heading into an away fixture.

And the Red Devils got off to a good start when Brazilian midfielder Casemiro headed past Forest’s goalkeeper Matz Sels on 34 minutes.

But Sean Dyche’s Forest outfit hit back via Morgan Gibbs-White’s header just after the half-time interval before Nicolo Savona made it 2-1 to the East Midlanders just two minutes later.

However, the Red Devils rescued a point thanks to Amad’s impressive volley just nine minutes from time.

Despite missing out on the three points, several players still put in solid performances at the City Ground, with goalkeeper Senne Lammens appearing assured between the sticks.

The defensive unit, made up by Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Matthijs de Ligt, also put in decent showings, but Diogo Dalot did not have his best game.

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst claimed that Amorim had a go at his Portuguese counterpart during the match.

“Amorim having a go at Dalot over his positioning,” Luckhurst wrote on X during the first 45 minutes.

“Didn't run onto a give-and-go with Fernandes and then poorly placed for the ball over the top for Savona.”

Dalot was replaced by Patrick Dorgu on 69 minutes and received a rating of just 3/10 from the MEN for his performance.

Luckhurst then spoke to Amorim after the draw, with the United boss addressing Dalot’s poor showing before homing in on the difficulties he faces due to being a right-footed player forced to play on the left flank.

“If you see Dalot, many times Dalot has the ball with space to make the cross, but he's a right-footer, he's always inside without space,” Amorim said.

Several United fans also weighed in with their thoughts on Dalot’s lacklustre display on social media.

One said: “Not good enough. A Sunday league footballer would still deliver the ball in with his left foot, with 6/10 times it being a half-decent ball. He’s a momentum killer, and his dribbling has gone so far backwards as well.”

Another added: “He knows Dalot was the problem since halftime, but insisted on letting him continue in the second half, which later cost us dearly.”

A third claimed: “Dalot remains a clear vulnerability — opponents know it and exploit it. Mbeumo & Amad are drawing tighter marks every game, which limits their freedom.”
