A update on the future of out-of-favour Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has emerged.
Rashford, 27, spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Aston Villa after a fallout with Man United head coach Ruben Amorim which culminated in the England international being left out of several matchday squads and his future has since been shrouded in uncertainty.
The 27-year-old has been linked with La Liga champions Barcelona and admitted that he hopes to play alongside Lamine Yamal in a recent interview.
However, another club could be set to pursue Rashford after their interest in another Premier League star was ‘knocked back’.

As reported by The Athletic on Wednesday, Liverpool have told Bayern Munich that their winger Luis Diaz, is not for sale.
Diaz, 28, is currently contracted to Liverpool until 2028 and has also received interest from Barcelona.
In May, the Colombian insisted that he is “very happy” at the Reds.

“I’m really happy and I have been like this since the first day I arrived,” Diaz told Telemundo Deportes in May.
“I’ve always been very calm and I have really just been enjoying the football played by this great team, being a part of this.
“We will be talking, the talk about it (his future) will happen. For me, I’d stay for as long as possible.”
And the fact that Diaz is seemingly not for sale could benefit Rashford if reports are to be believed.

As reported by ESPN, Bayern are set to step up their interest in Rashford.
According to Christian Falk, “The reigning Bundesliga champions are keen on adding a left-sided winger to their ranks following Leroy Sané’s free transfer exit to Galatasaray”.
Meanwhile, BILD also reports that Rashford is behind Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, Athletic Club’s Nico Williams and AC Milan's Rafael Leao.

ESPN's Rob Dawson also gave his thoughts on Tuesday.
"Bayern Munich have asked about the financial conditions that it would take to sign Marcus Rashford," said Dawson.
"United are being very clear that they are willing to accept offers around £40m, they’re also willing to consider a loan offer… the problem is Marcus Rashford’s wages, he is on an extortionate amount of money at Man United and he has three years left on his contract and before any of these deals get over the line whether it's Bayern Munich, Barcelona, anyone else they’re going to have to be willing to match those wages unless Marcus himself wants to take a pay cut and so far he hasn’t shown a willingness to do that.
"At some stage, he’s going to have to make a decision… he wants to play in Europe, he wants to play in the Champions League, he wants to be in the England squad in the United States and the World Cup."
