Three Manchester United players earned Sir Alex Ferguson's seal of approval after the club recorded their first win over Liverpool in nine years.
United recorded back to back victories for the first time under Ruben Amorim, nearly a year into his Old Trafford tenure.
They got off to the perfect start, with Bryan Mbeumo opening the scoring in front of the Kop just over a minute into the game.
Although Liverpool dominated proceedings, United remained a threat on the counter-attack and were unlucky to not double their lead through Bruno Fernandes.

The home side finally got a deserved equaliser through Cody Gakpo after 78 minutes, but Harry Maguire headed United back in front with just six minutes remaining.
Gakpo missed a great chance to equalise, and United held on to inflict Liverpool's fourth consecutive defeat, moving just two points behind their Merseyside rivals.
Several United players stood out, with the summer signings particularly impressive.

In just his second appearance, Senne Lammens looked assured in goal, making a good save one-one with Alexander Isak, and confidently claiming crosses.
Mbeumo scored his second United goal, while Matheus Cunha was a persistent threat throughout.
Benjamin Sesko was limited to 30 minutes off the bench, but showed signs of quality during his cameo.
Journalist Sam Pilger highlighted the trio's performance by referencing Ferguson's old adage

He wrote: Sir Alex Ferguson always said he judged a player on how they performed at Anfield.
"And so after today we conclusively learned that Lammens, Mbeumo and Cunha have all got what it takes to succeed at Manchester United."

Although it was an encouraging performance, Amorim knows he needs this to be a turning point at Old Trafford.

United recently defeated Chelsea 2-1 in an impressive victory at Old Trafford, but then slumped to a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Brentford the following week.
After the victory at Anfield, Amorim described it as 'very special win' but urged caution.
He said: "I think that was the biggest win in my time at Manchester United. It means a lot today but tomorrow it won't mean a lot. It's three points and it's a good victory."
United return to action on October 25 at 17:30 BST, hosting Brighton & Hove Albion.

It has been a difficult fixture for United in recent years, with the Seagulls winning four of the last five meetings.
Amorim will hope it can be the start of a winning run, with trips to Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur to follow before the next international break in November.
