Viktor Gyokeres isn't the only striker Manchester United have taken a keen interest in it appears, as details of discussions emerge.
Gyokeres, who worked under United boss Ruben Amorim at Sporting, is being courted by Arsenal and Juventus but the Red Devils are believed to have made an approach for the Swede.
But while it appeared as though his departure from Sporting would be fairly straightforward, with the club seemingly happy to let him move on after 97 goals in 102 games and back-to-back Primeira Liga titles.

However, Gyokeres is at odds with the club's top brass - feeling as though they have gone back on their word in regards to a gentleman's agreement about their asking price.
Gyokeres was under the impression that he would be able to €60m plus €10m but the club have taken a different view and will not sell him for that fee - leading to him reportedly getting ready to go on strike.
Revealing no offers have been received, the club's president Frederico Varandas released an explosive statement on the matter and said that Gyokeres will not be leaving for the aforementioned sum as he accused him of "blackmail and insults".

Man United have held talks with a Viktor Gyokeres alternative
The situation is getting messy but United haven't completely thrown their eggs in one basket with Gyokeres, as they still hold interest in Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian bagged 37 goals in 41 games on loan at Galatasaray from Serie A winners Napoli, where he is surplus to requirements.
Happy to offload him, Osimhen has a £63 million release clause in his Napoli deal and Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal looked to be his next destination.
However, Osimhen is not in favour of a move to Saudi and according to TBR Football's Graeme Bailey, both United and Liverpool held talks with his representatives last month.
Napoli are said to want more than £50 million for Osimhen, who would preferred to move to England.

He was a top target for Chelsea, who made a late attempt to sign him on transfer deadline day last summer.

Their interest appears to have dropped, particularly with the £30 million capture of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.
Despite failing to qualify for the Champions League, United have already made one key signing this summer, snapping up Wolves' Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million.

They are also working on a deal from Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo.
