Viktor Gyokeres makes his feelings clear on Sporting placing huge price tag on him as Premier League giants make fresh move

Viktor Gyokeres is subject to huge interest from multiple clubs his summer, though Sporting will not allow him to leave on the cheap.

Viktor Gyokeres has issued a furious response to Sporting's asking price after a fresh approach was made for the Swedish striker.

Gyokeres has quickly grown into one of the most sought-after strikers in world football, scoring an incredible 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting after joining from Coventry City.

After firing Sporting to the Primeira Liga and Taca de Portugal, Gyokeres appears to have been given the green light to move onto pastures new through a gentleman's agreement.

A slew of clubs are circling around the former Brighton and Hove Albion striker, with Manchester United and Arsenal heavily linked with the 27-year-old.

However, a new report from Portuguese outlet record, citing sources close to the player, claims that Gyokeres is "furious" and feels as though the club are not following through with the agreement made.

Gyokeres was under the impression that he would be able to leave if a club offered €60 million, as well as €10 million performance-related add-ons and bonuses - instead of his release clause of £84 million (€100 million).

However, it appears as though Sporting's top brass have gone back on their word and are demanding more for their talisman - much to his frustration.

Gyokeres has responded by removing Sporting's name from his Instagram bio, though he has also taken out references of Sweden and Nike.

Man United make approach for Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal appear to have been turned their attentions to RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko to give United a clear run for Gyokeres and Sky Sports say United have now made an initial approach.

With Rasmus Hojlund misfiring and Liam Delap signing for Chelsea for £30 million, it's said United have made contact through intermediaries and are "exploring the conditions" of a deal for Gyokeres, who played under Ruben Amorim at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.

According to L'Equipe, Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal tabled a lucrative salary offer of €35 million which was rejected by Gyokeres, who isn't so keen on the move.

Meanwhile, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared insight on the new development regarding Gyokeres and United, who he believes would have wrapped up a deal had they won the Europa League final.

"For Man United, we have to see financially how they can make it happen," he said on his YouTube channel.

"With Champions League football, I'm 99% convinced that they were going to close the [Viktor] Gyokeres deal quite quickly. I think that was the feeling. Then no Champions League football.

"They lost the final in Bilbao, and so it's more complicated financially. But for Viktor Gyokeres, Man United called again, so let's see if they will be able to make it happen. But there were new contacts with the agents of the player."
