The future of Bruno Fernandes has taken a new twist which has Manchester United fans fearing the worst.
In recent times the United captain has been honest about his own future after a disappointing season for United concluded with a Europa League final defeat to Spurs, which denied Ruben Amorim's men Champions League football next season.
With United's difficult financial predicament, the former Sporting CP raised eyebrows when he said, "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in, it is what it is.".

Fernandes, who joined United in 2020, is the team's talisman and arguably their biggest asset.
The Portugal international is the subject of strong interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, who want to make him their latest high-profile signing and are prepared to hand him a lucrative £65 million-a-year contract.
And after reports of Al Hilal giving Fernandes a strict 72-hour deadline to respond to their proposal, Fernandes' agent has been pictured in Riyadh for talks with the club.

According to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, Miguel Pinho held positive discussions with Al Hilal chiefs at the Four Seasons hotel while his client was over in the Far East for United's post-season tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong.
How much could Bruno Fernandes earn at Al Hilal?
The conversations are said to have gone on late into the night, with Al Hilal keen to wrap up the deal imminently and get Fernandes in for the upcoming Club World Cup tournament they are participating in.
There are some suggestions that Al Hilal could sign the 30-year-old's Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo on loan from Al Nassr for the tournament and they are said to be willing to pay him a staggering tax-free amount of £700,000 per week.

Overall, Fernandes would be in line to earn £200 million over three years with bonuses factored in.
Should Fernandes agree to the terms, Al Hilal will press ahead with a tempting £100 million bid to United.
No official approach has been made yet but journalist Ben Jacobs claims "significant efforts" have been made in the last two days to make it happen.
Contracted until 2027, United want to keep Fernandes but the next few days will be key in resolving his future.
