Scott McTominay ranks ahead of every Manchester United player on a prestigious list as Bruno Fernandes' position sums up the club's shocking season.

McTominay enjoyed a sensational debut campaign with Napoli following his transfer from Man United last summer.

He scored an impressive 12 league goals in his side's Serie A-winning campaign and was crowned the league's MVP.

As for his old side, the Red Devils endured a woeful Premier League campaign and their misery was compounded when they suffered a bruising 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

That's despite Fernandes' best efforts as he weighed in with 19 goals across all competitions.

With the 2024/25 season coming to an end, CIES have ranked the most influential players of the campaign by each position.

And in the list of attacking midfielders, McTominay is ranked fifth - 20 places above his ex-colleague Fernandes, who is ranked 25th.

Liverpool target Florian Wirtz is ranked No.1 ahead of Cole Palmer, who starred in Chelsea's Conference League triumph, and Jude Bellingham.

Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala is ranked fourth, while the aforementioned McTominay is ranked fifth, ahead of Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White.

Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai and Manchester City duo Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave the club, make up the top 25.

Crystal Palace pair Eberechi Eze and Ismaila Sarr and Wolves' Matheus Cunha, who is set to join Man United, also feature.
