Man Utd Call Player to Cancel Last-Gasp Deadline Day Transfer

Manchester United are set for a quiet transfer deadline day.

Manchester United have reportedly cancelled a transfer at the last-minute on deadline day.

On Monday, the January transfer window will slam shut for English clubs at 7pm.

The headlines have been made by Liverpool, who are set to complete a £60 million deal for young defender Jeremy Jacquet, who will move to Anfield in the summer.

Meanwhile, AC Milan were said to be closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, with Jorgen Strand Larsen moving from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Selhurst Park as the Frenchman's replacement.

However, it has since been stated by Gianluca Di Marzio that the deal could be in doubt.

Now, it has also been claimed that United have cancelled a transfer at the last minute.

As per Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, United have 'abruptly blocked a nearly completed transfer' of Tyrell Malacia to Turkey.

It has been stated that Malacia was on his way to Istanbul but received a call from Jason Wilcox and had to return to Manchester.

The Dutchman reportedly 'wanted' the transfer and has been left 'frustrated' by the Old Trafford club's late decision.

The apparent interested club was not named within the report.

Blaauwhof wrote on social media: "Bizarre deadline day for Tyrell Malacia. The left-back was on his way to Istanbul when Jason Wilcox (technical director) suddenly called him back to Manchester United after all.

"Decision-maker changed his mind, to the frustration of the Dutchman, who wanted the transfer."

Having fallen down the pecking order after a string of different injury problems, Malacia has found it tough to secure regular playing time at Old Trafford.

So far in the 25/26 season, Malacia has made one appearance in the Premier League, a cameo that lasted only two minutes.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old has also appeared twice in the Premier League 2, scoring once for United's U21 side.

After beating the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham in their last three Premier League matches, the Red Devils will return to action this weekend when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
