Jose Mourinho has previously made his feelings clear on managing Manchester United for a second time amid the Red Devils' struggles under Ruben Amorim.
This week, the pressure intensified on Amorim after United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two outfit Grimsby Town.
During what was a horrible night for Amorim's men, Bryan Mbeumo missed a crucial penalty as Grimsby advanced by winning the shootout 12-11.
As a result, the pressure is beginning to mount on Amorim, who cut a dejected figure after United's Carabao Cup exit.

According to a report by The Guardian, the former Sporting Clube de Portugal head coach's tactics and man-management skills are being 'questioned by some in the United dressing room'.
In addition, it has been suggested that there is a feeling that the 40-year-old could resign.

To add further fuel to the already burning fire, former United boss Jose Mourinho was sacked by Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce on Friday morning.

The decision came after Fenerbahce were dumped out of the Champions League by Portuguese side Benfica, who won 1-0 on aggregate after two legs.
A statement from the club read: "Our Professional Football First Team's technical director, Jose Mourinho, who has been carrying out his duties starting from the 2024-2025 season, has parted ways with us. We thank him for his efforts for our team until today and wish him success in his future career."
As a result of his sacking, Mourinho will be one of the names linked with United, having managed the club between 2016 and 2018.
During his time at Old Trafford, Mourinho achieved a best finish of second in the Premier League while winning the League Cup and the Europa League.

The Portuguese remains one of the more successful United managers since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
Back in May 2024, it was claimed that Mourinho would be open to returning to the Red Devils.
As reported by Manchester Evening News, the 62-year-old 'told confidants he would "walk" to Manchester to manage United for a second time'.
