Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has made an interesting admission about his future at the club.
Maguire, 32, headed home United’s winner in their 2-1 victory against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday and in doing so secured Ruben Amorim’s first successive win since he took charge of the Red Devils in the autumn of 2024.
Despite failing to ever really justify his £80million price tag with his on-pitch performances, the Englishman has never shied away from representing the club.
Since joining from Leicester City in 2019, the 32-year-old has faced criticism from all angles, but to his credit, he has remained professional and continued to act in a respectful manner.

The centre-back’s Anfield goal was his 17th in his 254th appearance for the Red Devils, but how much longer will he remain at Old Trafford?

Currently, the answer to that question is unclear, with Maguire’s United contract set to expire in June 2026.
If he does not extend his deal by January 1, the centre-back, who boasts 64 England caps, will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs.

As reported by BBC Sport, Maguire’s family are settled in north west England and he is keen to stay at United.
The outlet even claimed that the defender would be willing to take a pay cut if he needed to in order to make this happen, although no agreement is in place currently.
"I've been here seven years now, so it's been tough not getting that win," Maguire told BBC Sport.
"It's been on my mind a little bit, to be honest.

"I'm in my last year now, so this could be the last time I played at Anfield for this club, so it's really important that I've come here and ticked that one off."
After United's win at Anfield, Amorim described Maguire as a "great example to every kid".
According to estimates by Capology, Maguire earns a base salary of £190,000 per week, which can reach up to £237,000 if bonuses are achieved, making him the fourth-highest earner at the club behind Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Matthijs de Ligt.

Maguire encountered a similar situation in the summer when he was tentatively linked with a potential move away from United, but he suggested that it would be “silly” to leave the 20-time Premier League champions.
United return to Premier League action on Saturday when they face Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
