Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes may be tempted away from Old Trafford after receiving an offer that could be too good to turn down.

Despite losing their opening game of the 2025/26 Premier League season to Arsenal, United fans have a lot to be excited about at the moment.

After last season saw them finish 15th in the table, their lowest finish since the Premier League was founded in 1992, their performance last weekend has fans convinced that there will be a major improvement this season.

Add to this the fact that manager Ruben Amorim has been backed in the summer transfer window, leading to the signings of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and things are looking up for United.

However, with just one week left in the window, things could be set to take a turn for the worst for United, as the club are set to receive an offer for Fernandes which may be impossible to refuse.

Ever since his arrival at United in January 2020 for an initial fee of €55m (£47m), Fernandes has won Player of the Season at United four times, showing how important he has been to the club.

Across 291 appearances for United, Fernandes has contributed 184 goals or assists, however this hasn't gone unnoticed by clubs across the world, as revealed by a new report from The Sun.

It claims that Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad opened dialogue with Fernandes and his representatives in a secret meeting discussing a huge move before the transfer window closes on September 1.

The United captain has previously been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with the most recent being when he turned down advances from Al Hilal in June.

But it is believed that a contract worth a total of £33million per year, or around £634,000 per week, would be enough to tempt Fernandes away from United in the final days of the window.

As for United, it is likely that they would be looking to receive a fee of at least £100m having reportedly named a six-figure valuation for the midfielder earlier in the summer, something which is believed to be easily achievable for Al Ittihad.

What has Bruno Fernandes said about potentially leaving Manchester United?

After reports linking the United star with Al Hilal first emerged in June, Fernandes spoke out to give his perspective on leaving Old Trafford.

He said: "I have always been honest. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go.

"I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days. In the day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it.

"But I've always said it and I keep my word in the same way.

"If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it's what it is, and football sometimes is like this."
