Manchester United's injury woes continued on Friday night as Marcus Rashford and Andre Onana hobbled off within minutes of each other while on international duty.

Earlier this week, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund were forced to withdraw from Denmark’s squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland.

Eriksen is facing a month out with a knee injury, while Hojlund has picked up a muscle strain.

Both players will join Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia and Jonny Evans on the sidelines, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka missed their most recent Premier League win over Luton.

It has been a tricky time for Erik ten Hag and his medical staff but things could be about to get even tougher after Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford picked up knocks on international duty.

Rashford hobbled off after the hour mark during England's win over Malta at Wembley.

And in the 81st minute of Cameroon's World Cup qualifier against Mauritius on Friday, goalkeeper Onana was replaced by Fabrice Ondoa.

Onana, who returned to the Cameroon squad in September after a suspension led to his dismissal from last winter's World Cup, is set to absent for a lengthy period as a result of next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

AFCON will begin on January 13th and end on February 11th, meaning the 27-year-old could miss as many as six games for his new club.

These include four Premier League clashes against Spurs, Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa.

If Onana gets an early call-up to feature in Cameroon's pre-tournament camp, he could also miss United's FA Cup third round clash tie that's set to take place on the weekend of January 6-7.

And should United progress out of their Champions League group, they would play the first leg of a last-16 clash, just 48 hours after the AFCON final.
