Scott Carson's stint at Manchester City is set to come to an end after six years, two appearances and a handsome pay packet.
Carson, formerly of Leeds and Liverpool, joined City on loan from Derby as third-choice goalkeeper in 2019 and later signed permanently in 2021.
He made only one appearance in the Premier League for Pep Guardiola's side, in a 4-3 debut win over Newcastle United, but has been credited as being a hugely popular figure around City's squad.

Part of the squad which won the Champions League in 2023, Guardiola described Carson as "very important behind the scenes" and said "people listen when he speaks".
He was handed back-to-back one-year contract extensions for the past two seasons but in a statement on their official website on Monday, City have confirmed he will leave the club when his most recent deal expires at the end of the month.
How much did Scott Carson earn at Manchester City?
Carson, who was once given a tour of the Etihad Stadium in a secret santa prank from one of his teammates, was paid well for his contributions in City's dressing room.

When he arrived on loan, he was believed to be earning £25,000-a-week - with City paying Derby instalments of around £500,000 twice a year for a loan fee and the ex England goalkeeper's wages before signing him permanently on a free.

According to Capology, a new deal in 2022 improved his salary to £30,000-a-week and £1,560,000 per year.
Across five seasons with City, two-time Champions League winner Carson made around £7 million for just 108 minutes of action in between the sticks.

He played 90 minutes and saved a penalty against Newcastle in the 2020/21 season and then was brought on a sub in the second leg of a last 16 clash against Sporting CP in the Champions League the following season when City were 5-0 up on aggregate.
Man City identity Scott Carson replacement from Premier League rivals
Carson is expected to be the only goalkeeping departure at City, with Ederson and Stefan Ortega set to stay put.
But according to The Telegraph, City are targeting a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli to replace Carson.

The former Fulham shotstopper, who received an England call-up in 2018, joined Chelsea in 2021 but has made just one appearance - a start in an FA Cup win over Chesterfield in 2022.
A homegrown player, he has had the same role as Carson at Stamford Bridge and City want him to replicate it for them - though they will likely have to pay a small fee as he is contracted until 2026.
