Fans cannot believe which player stepped forward to take the penalty that saw AS Monaco secure a draw with Manchester City.
On Wednesday evening, several top Premier League clubs were in action as they competed in their second group stage match in the Champions League.
Newcastle United secured a dominant 4-0 win over Belgium's Royale Union Saint-Gilloise before Arsenal and Manchester City kicked off their matches later in the evening.
Like the Magpies, Arsenal secured a comfortable win over Olympiacos, with City looking like they were set to make it three wins from three for English clubs on Wednesday.

A brace from star striker Erling Haaland saw City take the lead on two occasions, but a late penalty scored by a surprise Monaco player led to the match finishing as a 2-2 draw.
In the final moments of the Champions League match in Monaco's Stade Louis II, former Spurs defender Eric Dier won a penalty as Nico Gonzalez kicked the Englishman in the face during a failed attempt to defend a free-kick
And, despite the fact that several forwards were on the pitch at the time, it was Dier himself that stepped up to take the penalty, cooly putting it past City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to draw the match.

Reacting to the moment, one fan wrote on X: "Eric Dier scoring a penalty for Monaco is like spotting a Polar Bear in Arlington, Texas."
While one simply added: "Seeing Eric Dier take the penalty was such a THIS IS FOOTBALL MOMENT. Beautiful."
And a Tottenham Hotspur fan chimed in, writing: "Our juju against City is so strong that Eric f*****g Dier just scored a pen against them in the Champs League."

After ten years with Tottenham, Dier moved to join German giants Bayern Munich in January 2024, making 47 appearances and winning the Bundesliga in his second season at the club.
Despite his success with the German club, Dier opted against extending his stay at the Allianz Arena and instead made the move to Monaco in May, signing a three-year deal.
Since then, the 31-year-old has been a key player for the Ligue 1 side, starting and playing 90 minutes in all but one of their matches this season so far, with Wednesday's goal being his second for the club.
