Liverpool are reportedly interested in a shock option as their search for a new striker continues.
So far this summer, the Reds have been busy in the transfer market, having signed Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
Meanwhile, the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko have all been linked with a move to Anfield.
It is no secret that Arne Slot is looking for a new man to lead his attack, with Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz facing an uncertain future at the club.

Uruguayan Nunez has been linked with Italian Serie A champions Napoli over the last few weeks but a deal looks unlikely with Liverpool refusing to budge on their asking price.
Meanwhile, Diaz has recently attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

On Monday, a shock report emerged that Liverpool are interested in Crystal Palace frontman Jean-Philippe Mateta.

As reported by French news outlet Foot Mercato, the Premier League champions are weighing up a move for Mateta, 28, having met with the Frenchman and his representatives in Paris.
It has been suggested that a bid of around €50 million to €60 million could be enough to tempt Palace to part ways with the striker, who is under contract at Selhurst Park until 2027.
In 46 appearances across all competitions in the 24/25 season, Mateta managed 17 goals and four assists.
Aside from Liverpool, it has been claimed that Premier League rivals Manchester United and Italian Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in the 28-year-old striker.

Recently, it was claimed that Liverpool were also interested in Mateta's Palace teammate, Marc Guehi.
The defender has one year left on his current deal and has been linked with a move away from the Eagles this summer.
With the future of Ibrahima Konate in doubt, Slot could have a perfect replacement in Guehi, who has played a huge part in Palace's recent success of winning the FA Cup.
