America's takeover of English football looks set to continue after an NFL boss launched a £190 million bid for Crystal Palace.

The Eagles qualified for next season's Europa League after they defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final.

But it later emerged that their participation in Europe was under threat due to UEFA's rules on multi-club ownership with current part-owner John Textor also invovled with Lyon.

It has now emerged that Textor has received a £190 million bid for his stake.

This would both allow Palace to compete in Europe and continue the trend of American ownership in England's top flight.

According to BBC Sport, the offer is from Woody Johnson, who owns the New York Jets.

Although Textor is also American, Johnson's takeover would mean there are still 11 Premier League clubs with American ownership next season.

Which other clubs have American owners?

Arsenal have been entirely owned by Stan Kroenke since 2018.

The Kroenke Sports & Entertainment group also owns NFL's LA Rams and Colorado Rapids in the MLS.

Aston Villa are co-owned by Egyptian Nassef Sawiris and American Wes Edens.

Edens owns the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, as well as the Midlands club.

AFC Bournemouth are also fully owned by Americans, with Bill Foley taking charge in 2022.

The American businessman is also part of a consortium that own ice hockey's Vegas Knight Hawks, as well as stakes in several football clubs.

Newly promoted Burnley are owned by ALK Capital, which is chaired by American.

The investment group, which specialise in sporting and media investments, acquired an 84% stake in 2020.

Chelsea were purchased by Todd Boehly and the Clearlake Capital-led consortium in 2022 for an astonishing £4.25 billion.

Boehly is the chairman at Stamford Bridge and a co-owner of both Ligue 1's Strasbourg and MLB's LA Dodgers.

Fulham have been owned entirely by Shahid Khan since 2013.

The Pakistani-American businessman also owns NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and co-owns All Elite Wrestling.

Championship winners Leeds are owned entirely by 49ers Enterprises.

As the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers, it is the way Jed York undertakes sporting ventures.

Premier League champions Liverpool have been owned entirely by Fenway Sports Group (FSG) since 2010.

John W Henry and Tom Werner run the group, which also owns the MLB's Boston Red Sox and NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.

Manchester United are still predominantly owned by the Glazer family, who took control of the club in 2005.

Although they have since sold a 25% stake to Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS, they remain majority owners.

What about in the Championship?

Tom Wagner and Knighthead Capital completed a takeover of Birmingham City in 2023.

Tom Brady, the seven time Super Bowl champion also holds a minority stake in the Blues.

Millwall have been owned by the Berylson family since 2007.

John Berylson was the chairman until his death in 2023, when his son James succeeded him.

There are several owners in Swansea City, with the majority of them being Americans and Real Madrid star Luke Modric also recently invested in the Swans.

Portsmouth is fully owned by Michael Eisner's The Tornate Company. Eisner was the chief executive at Walt Disney for several years.

West Bromwich Albion are 87.8% owned by the Bilkul Football WBA, which is owned by Shilen Patel and his dad Dr Kiran C. Patel.

Wrexham are owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who took over in 2021.

Their hugely popular 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary has helped transform the club, who have just completed a remarkable third consecutive promotion.
