Liverpool star Federico Chiesa has admitted he is considering leaving the club in an honest interview where he spoke about the situation of two other teammates.
Chiesa, who signed from Juventus in 2024, struggled for minutes in the 2025/26 season and made just one start in the Premier League for Liverpool.
His lack of game-time led to a plethora of reports linking him with a return to Italy in January but an injury to Alexander Isak and Mo Salah's involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations blocked that.
Arne Slot's dismissal could give plenty of Liverpool players a new lease of life, with everyone effectively given a fresh start under new boss Andoni Iraiola.

Chiesa intends on being with the Reds for pre-season but is adamant that he will have to move on if his minutes do not improve.
“I want to play and if I don’t find continuity in the Premier League I’ll need to find it elsewhere,” Chiesa told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This season just gone, I got next to no minutes. I’ll go to the U.S. for pre-season then I’ll talk to the club and Iraola and we’ll see.”
The Italy international added: “I’ve honestly not played a lot since the start of 2026.
“I’ve got a great relationship with Liverpool. Back in January the club and Slot said I couldn’t leave. They needed me. It was about numbers. We were in crisis.
“I understood the situation and stayed, keeping a smile on my face. We’re still talking about Liverpool. Last year they allowed me to win the Premier League.”
Chiesa is beloved by the Liverpool supporters despite never really establishing himself as a regular since his £12.5 million move.
His six appearances in his first season saw him earn a Premier League winners' medal and he played 26 times in the league last term - though his minutes primarily came as a substitute.
After being asked about the possibility of signing with Inter Milan or nearby Como, Chiesa admitted: “The important thing for me is game-time. I am not presumptuous enough to say: I have to be a starter. I am ready to fight for my place anywhere.”
Federico Chiesa comments on two Liverpool stars linked with Italy moves
Mo Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have all left Liverpool and there is uncertainty among many other members of the squad.
17-year-old sensation Rio Ngumoha has interest from Bayern Munich but the Reds are adamant the youngster is not for sale.
Elsewhere, Curtis Jones has keen admirers in Inter, with Chiesa admitting the two have had a conversation about Italian life.
“All he (Jones) asked me was what life is like in Italy,” Chiesa confirmed.
“I told him it’s great and the weather is better than in Liverpool which, other than that, is a special place. Jones, technically, is a really good player. Inter do well to think about signing him.”
Similarly, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been heavily with a return to Italy with Juventus but Chiesa believes the former Roma man will stay at Anfield for next season.
He stated: “From what I hear, he’s staying in England. Then let’s see. We’re talking about one of the top five goalkeepers on the planet. He’s a fantastic leader. He’s won everything and makes the difference on the pitch and in the dressing room.”
