Liverpool have made their stance on Mohamed Salah's future clear, according to reports, as the Egyptian forward continues to struggle for form.
It has been an uncharacteristically slow start to the 2025-26 campaign for the usually prolific Salah, who has notched just three goals in 12 appearances for the defending Premier League champions.
In fact, the 33-year-old was benched by Arne Slot for Wednesday night's Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt – a game they went on to dominate and win 5-1.
The out-of-form Salah was eventually introduced in the 74th minute, replacing goalscorer Hugo Ekitike, but he failed to find the net again, with criticism coming his way for not teeing up Florian Wirtz late on.

After the full-time whistle, the Egyptian is said to have been agitated, with Daily Mail reporter Lewis Steele tweeting (and later deleting): "Mo Salah straight down the tunnel at FT. Loads and loads of positives to take from tonight for Liverpool but he looked in a strop.”

Salah's social media activity also became a talking point following Wednesday's game, after he changed his profile picture and header on X.
Liverpool's thoughts on Mo Salah future emerge
Ahead of their win over Frankfurt, a report from Football Insider claimed Liverpool are not planning to sell Salah in January, or next summer for that matter, following his slow start to the campaign.

It comes after Salah penned a new two-year deal in April.
It is also claimed that Salah himself is 'likely' to have a big say on his future. "The winger has so much credit in the bank with the Reds that he can effectively decide how long he stays with the club," the above report states.
Arne Slot explains decision to bench Mo Salah vs Frankfurt
Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of kick-off, Slot was asked why he had left Salah out and whether it was a tough decision to make.

“The first answer is always yes. But that is also to do with Mo and all the players I have. Every time I select a team, it's always difficult because I have so many good players. That's also the reason why I use these players," he said.
“I liked the way we ended the game against United. Mainly the second half. Created a lot of chances. And Ryan [Gravenberch] is out, so that means we have to restructure our midfield a little bit as well - defensively and offensively."
Salah added: "So all together with the way Frankfurt usually plays, we decided to start like this. But as always, I have players who start the game and I have players who can impact the game off the bench and that is (the case) today as well.”
