Mohamed Salah angered Florian Wirtz in a telling moment during Liverpool's big win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

Liverpool snapped their four-game losing streak with a comfortable come-from-behind victory over Frankfurt on Wednesday.

But their Champions League fixture got off to the worst possible start when the Bundesliga side opened the scoring through Rasmus Kristensen.

The Premier League champions, however, hit back with five goals, with ex-Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike levelling proceedings in the 35th minute.

Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate scored from corners to make it 2-1 then 3-1 before the break.

After the restart, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai added a fourth and fifth.

Salah, who started the game on the bench, could have improved Liverpool's lead when he entered the fray in the second-half.

He was put through on goal but failed to score from a tight angle.

Salah's decision to shoot frustrated Wirtz, who would have had a tap in if the ball was squared.

After Michael Zetterer's save, Wirtz cut a frustrated figure as he showed his annoyance at his teammate by throwing his arms up.

The moment between Salah and Wirtz didn't go unnoticed among Liverpool fans on social media as they made their feelings known.

One X user wrote: "Twice in 4 days Mo Salah doesn’t just square it for a Wirtz tap in. So poor man," while a second added: "That’s so greedy from Salah, Wirtz is right there for his first goal ffs."

A third commented: "Salah can be so annoying, why the hell didn’t you square it for Wirtz there?"

A fourth slammed: "Selfish Salah costing Wirtz a 3 g/a game ffs."

Wirtz was unable to get on the score-sheet but he did provide two assists - his first contributions in a Liverpool shirt.

He set up Gakpo and Szoboszlai after coming off the bench.

Wirtz will be hoping he's done enough to impress Arne Slot to return to the starting XI.

Liverpool return to action on Saturday when they face Brentford in a league fixture.
