Liverpool fans have decided the Alexander Isak saga is 'done' and dusted after a fresh development in Newcastle's pursuit of a new striker.
Having allowed Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz to leave, the Reds have been desperate to bring in the Swede and had a £110 million bid instantly rejected by the Magpies - who are adamant that he is not for sale.
Despite returning to the Champions League, Newcastle have endured a frustrating transfer window which has seen them miss out on a number of targets - including Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko.
They still continue to be linked with a plethora of strikers and last week David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that Newcastle were considering a move for Porto striker Samu Aghehowa.

The 21-year-old, who was previously close to joining Chelsea before the move fell through at the last hurdle, scored 27 goals in all competitions in his debut season in Portugal.
Newcastle admire the Spain international but he appeared to respond to speculation about his future on Monday night when he bagged a brace against Vitoria SC.
Celebrating one of his strikes, Samu kissed the Porto badge and then pointed to the floor as if to suggest that will be staying at Estadio de Dragao.

In response, one user on X said: "I’m gonna take a wild guess and say he’s not going anywhere."
A second commented: "Newcastle got my man kissing the badge."
A third wrote: "Pretty clear he's staying at Porto then. That's Isak staying surely
A fourth added: We are doomed. Newcastle has zero pull that cele."

A Newcastle fan summarised: "Samu goal and celebration tonight.... Kissing the Porto badge and pointing to the ground saying 'I'm staying here!'.
"I would suggest putting any remaining lingering thoughts about signing this kid right to the back of your mind."
David Ornstein's Alexander Isak update
Newcastle not getting a new No.9 makes them less likely to sell talisman Isak and Howe appeared optimistic that the situation would be resolved with the former Real Sociedad man being integrated back in.

However, as per Ornstein, Isak still wants to join Liverpool - with no intentions of returning as he views his career at St James' Park as over - even if he does not move before the transfer window closes.
