Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has introduced a subtle rule change ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, and fans love it.

Slot, 46, comes into the 2025/26 campaign as a Premier League-winning coach but based on the Reds’ transfer business this summer, he is not satisfied.

Liverpool will compete on four fronts this season – Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup – and will, no doubt, be bolstered by the additions of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, while Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman have also arrived.

Meanwhile, the Premier League champions’ pursuit of highly rated Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike is ongoing, with Sky Sports reporting that the 23-year-old wants to join Liverpool despite interest from Newcastle United.

On Thursday, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported: “Liverpool are advancing in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over the transfer of Hugo Ekitike.

“The club’s proposed package to sign the 23-year-old striker is in excess of €80million (£69.2m; $92.7m), and personal terms are not expected to be an issue.”

And despite the excitement surrounding the proposed move, some supporters focused on a subtle thing Slot has changed ahead of the season, and it speaks volumes about the Dutchman.

Liverpool Academy reporter Lewis Bower posted several updates about the club’s 2025/26 scholarship intake and detailed how Slot was photographed alongside the young footballers, as you can see below.

Bower explained how Slot was pictured alongside each player individually while they signed their deals, whereas academy staff would usually take up the role.

Bower wrote on X: "A nice touch this year; Arne Slot present during scholarship intake signing, pictured alongside each player individually."

And fans were quick to have their say.

One said: "I think he just gets it don't he."

Another asked: "Did Jürgen ever do that?"

A third commented: "Little things matter and Slot gets that."

A fourth added: "This is so wholesome."

Liverpool and Slot will now turn their attention to the upcoming pre-season schedule, having already defeated Preston North End 3-1 last Sunday. The Reds will travel to the Far East where they will face AC Milan (July 26) and Yokohama (July 30) before a clash against Athletic Club at Anfield on August 4.

Slot's side will then take on Crystal Palace in the Community Shield at Wembley on August 10.
