Little-known Brazilian is responsible for 'hardest shot in football history' that even Hulk can't compete with

The player was above the likes of Arjen Robben, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham when the 'fastest shots' were ranked.

A little-known Brazilian footballer tipped some world-class players to the top of the fastest shots ever recorded list.

From the school playground to the very elite level of the game, having a hard/fast shot is a huge benefit to a footballer.

Certain players instantly come to mind when imagining the hardest shots.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Arjen Robben and Roberto Carlos are just a few names that have stunned several goalkeepers with the sheer ferocity and velocity of their strikes over the past two decades.

But one man arguably has a more powerful shot than all the names mentioned, and that man was former Porto, Zenit St Petersburg, and current Atletico Mineiro forward Hulk, 38.

Hulk – formerly Givanildo Vieira de Sousa – clocked a mind-blowing speed of 108km/h when he scored a stunning long-range effort against Benfica back in 2012.

And despite approaching his 39th birthday, his shot power is still very much a huge part of his game, as Tombense discovered when he scored a stunning 35-yard free kick against them in the Campeonato Mineiro semi-final first leg on February 15.

However, Hulk may not have the world’s most powerful shot after all.

Back in November 2006, a little-known Brazilian named Ronny Heberson reportedly registered the fastest shot of all time, according to GiveMeSport.

Heberson, 38, was playing for Sporting CP when he struck a shot which returned a speed of 210km/h.

His free kick stunned Pedro Taborda, Naval’s goalkeeper, who somehow managed to get a fingertip on the strike.

Sporting won 1-0 in front of 2,577 spectators at the Estadio Municipal Jose Bento Pessoa, who were lucky enough to witness a piece of history.

Fastest shots of all-time (km/h)

1) Ronny Heberson - 210

2) Arjen Robben - 190

3) Steven Reid - 189

4) Ronald Koeman - 188

5) David Hirst - 183

6) Ibrahim Sangare - 170

7) David Beckham - 157.5

8) David Trezeguet - 154.4

9) Ritchie Humphreys - 154

10) Tony Yeboah - 153

11) Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 150

12) Matt Le Tissier - 140

13) Alan Shearer - 138

14) Roberto Carlos - 138

15) Tugay - 135.5

16) Obafemi Martins - 135

(List as per GiveMeSport).
