Erling Haaland heads up the list of the top taxpayers in the Premier League, with the Manchester City man also earning the most in wages.
When Haaland penned a long-term deal keeping him at Man City until 2034 in January of 2025, the Norway international became the highest-paid footballer in the UK.
As reported by Capology, the forward, who has netted 151 times in 179 City appearances since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, earns around £525,000 per week or £27.3 million per year from his on-pitch exploits alone.
The total number will be much higher due to various endorsements and brand deals.

According to Sportico, Haaland is also reportedly the 18th best-paid athlete on the planet.
Of course, the more money one earns, the more tax they pay and Haaland is no exception to the UK’s tax laws.

On Saturday (January 31), The Sunday Times Football Tax List was published and provided information on the ten footballers who pay the most tax in the UK.
As previously mentioned, Haaland tops the list and reportedly pays £16.9 million in tax. Broken down into a monthly tax payment, this equates to just over £1.4 million per month.
Second on the list is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who earns around £400,000 per week plus an estimated £10 million in bonuses per annum. As a result, the Egyptian loses £14.5 million per year in tax.
Third is Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, who earns a basic salary of £350,000. The Brazilian will also likely have lucrative bonuses written into his deal, meaning he, as a result, pays £10.9 million in tax every year.
Next on the list is free agent Raheem Sterling, who pays £9.8 million per year in tax, although now that he has terminated his Chelsea contract, this number will likely fall.
Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk makes up the top five, reportedly paying £9.7 million in tax per year.
Robert Watts, who compiled The Sunday Times Tax List, said:
"The Premier League acts as a magnet to some of the world's top players, netting big gains for Rachel Reeves' Treasury. It doesn't matter where in the world they come from, these stars still pay UK income tax and national insurance on their hefty pay packets.
"The Chancellor announced in her recent Budget that she wants to crack down on how footballers are taxed on side earnings they receive from image rights. Until now, many players have been permitted to pay tax at a lower rate on this income.
"Will that obligate clubs to pay their top talent even more, perhaps passing on the cost to fans through higher ticket prices? We'll have to wait and see."
