Fans were quick to react after seeing what Chelsea posted to X shortly after their 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final on Sunday.

Chelsea came into the clash at the MetLife Stadium as underdogs while Luis Enrique’s PSG side were aiming for a fourth trophy of the season following their Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Champions League triumphs during the 2024/25 campaign.

But to the surprise of many, Enzo Maresca’s side put in an excellent performance with Cole Palmer scoring twice before setting up Joao Pedro for the Blues’ third of the evening.

And following the match, Palmer, 23, gave a fiery interview, after which broadcaster DAZN were forced to apologise for his use of foul language.

"Everyone has talked a lot of sh*t about us all season,” Palmer said.

"It's a great feeling. Even better, because everyone doubted us before the game, we knew that. To put a fight on like we did, it's good.

"I like finals. It's happened again.

"The gaffer put a great game plan out. He knew where the space was going to be. He tried to free me up as much as possible, and I just had to repay him and score some goals.

"He is building something special, something important."

The England international and his teammates then met U.S. President Donald Trump, who was in attendance at the final, with several supporters left amused by the pair’s exchange when Palmer collected his MVP award.

But the entertainment did not stop there.

Shortly after full time, Chelsea posted to social media and appeared to aim a dig at Brazilian side Flamengo. Of course, the London club suffered a 3-1 defeat against the Rio de Janeiro outfit in the group stage of the tournament.

And after their shock win, Flamengo posted a cheeky dig on social media which read: “Easy win against London Blue.”

London Blue is a reference to Konami's football video game series Pro Evolution Soccer. The company did not previously have a licence to use real club names.

So, after last night’s victory, Chelsea fired back despite Flamengo congratulating them via X.

“Congratulations, Chelsea, deserved Champions,” the club wrote, to which Chelsea replied: “Chelsea? I thought it was London Blue?”

Fans were quick to have their say on social media.

One said: “Tbf. They just wished you congratulations.”

Another added: “Small club. Can't even take a compliment.”

While Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah commented: “COOKED.”
