Liam Rosenior has made a controversial decision following Chelsea's 3-0 away defeat to Brighton, but it could be crucial to save their season.
Chelsea broke a 114-year record at the AMEX on Tuesday, as Rosenior's side became the first Chelsea squad to lose five consecutive games without scoring since 1912.
Brighton took an early lead through man of the match Ferdi Kadıoğlu, after his shot was deflected off Wesley Fofana in the third minute, and the Seagulls never looked back.
Rosenior's side could barely lay a glove on their European rivals, with second-half goals from Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck solidifying their dominance.

Despite the gutless display, Rosenior has given his squad a day off for their efforts, with preparation for their FA Cup semi-final vs Leeds to begin later in the week.
This was confirmed by Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol, who also insisted there is currently no decision over whether Rosenior will be on the touchline at Wembley.
He wrote on X: "Chelsea’s sporting leadership are now discussing what to do next, they are taking stock of the situation after last night’s shocking performance at Brighton.
"Although the club have backed Liam Rosenior up to this point, football is ultimately a results business. It’s too early to say whether Rosenior will definitely be in charge for the Leeds game on Sunday. As things stand, he remains in charge, but the situation could change."
He confirmed: "Chelsea players have the day off today."
Rosenior slams 'unacceptable' Chelsea players
While the decision to allow Chelsea players a day's rest is far from unusual, it may be a surprise to fans after Rosenior labelled his players as unacceptable in his post-match analysis.
"[The performance] was unacceptable in every aspect of the game. I keep coming out and defending the players; that was indefensible, that performance tonight," he told Sky Sports.
"The manner of the goals we conceded, the duels that we lost. Something has to change drastically right here, right now."
If Rosenior is allowed to continue in his role, his last chance may be this weekend, with the chance at FA Cup glory the only saving grace for Chelsea's season if their league form continues.
