There is a clear favourite to replace Liam Rosenior as permanent Chelsea manager, and it's not interim boss Callum McFarlane.
After suffering a dismal 3-0 loss to Brighton on Tuesday night, their fifth consecutive Premier League defeat, Chelsea confirmed they have sacked manager Rosenior.
The 41-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in early January, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal with an option for a further season.
Rosenior managed 23 games across all competitions but won just 11, seeing Chelsea fall to seventh in the Premier League standings, a huge blow to their European hopes.

"This has not been a decision the club has taken lightly, however recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season," Chelsea wrote in a club statement.
In his wake, s , who was Rosenior's assistant, will take over as interim manager until the season of the season.
However, it is instead Filipe Luis that is the bookies favourite to take over as Rosenior's permanent replacement, with the former Chelsea player 6/4 to be appointed with Betfair.
Luis, who made 26 appearances for Chelsea during the 2014/15 season, most recently managed Brazilian side Flamengo from September 2024 until March this year.
During his time in charge of Flamengo, Luis led the side to seven trophies, including the 2025 Copa Libertadores, becoming only the ninth person to win the trophy as both player and manager.
On 29 December 2025, Luis extended his contract with the club until the end of 2027, but in March it was suddenly announced that he would no longer serve as head coach following an 8β0 victory over Madureira in the Campeonato Carioca semifinal.

Luis' Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas is second in the odds following a successful season in Italy with Como, currently sitting at 5/2 to take over at his former club.
Meanwhile both Oliver Glasner (10/3) and Andoni Iraola (5/1) are also in the running ahead of their confirmed exits from Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in the summer.
Meanwhile, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is 14/1 after securing promotion to the Premier League by sealing the Championship title with Coventry.
